Q:  What does a doula do?

A:     A doula provides continuous emotional & informational
support  prior to, during & immediately following birth.

Q:   What services do you provide?

A:      I provide prenatal education, labor support in both hospital
& home birth situations.  I also provide birth photography
if you wish.  Breastfeeding support for as long as the nursing
relationship lasts will also be provided.

Q:    What training and/or education is involved
         in becoming a doula?

A:      There are many programs that offer training and certification
of doulas.  Most of them require a 16 (or more) hour workshop,
recommended reading, demonstration of a working knowledge
of the anotomy & physiology of childbirth, essays, research
papers, practical experience, and evaluation from clients &
their caregivers (Dr. or Midwife and nursing staff).  I am
completing training & certification through a nationally
         recognized organization.

Q:   What if I want an epidural?

A:      This is *your* birth!  I will not push my views or philosophy
on any of my clients.   I am here to support both you and your
partner & help you achieve a good and memorable birth
          experience.
